Representative Coffey urges Senate to override Governor Lynch's Veto |

At a press conference covered by the Concord Monitor on Sept 6th, Representative Coffey urged the Senate to override Governor Lynch's veto of SB88. The bill allows a person who is anywhere he or she has a right to be to use deadly force to protect oneself or a third person. Please contact your senator to indicate your support of the override. |

SB88 - relative to physical force in defense of a person and relative to the brandishing of a firearm or other means of self-defense has been approved by the NH house and senate. Representative Coffey, one of the bills co-sponsors, was quoted in the boston.com article, "I should not be required to turn my back to a would-be rapist or robber on my way to stores". Today, Governor Lynch signed signed Rep. Jenn Coffey’s sponsored Knife Rights pre-emption bill, HB544. It takes effect in 60 days at which time, no city, town, or other political subdivision can ban the ownership, possession, sale, or carry of knives.
